Given Black History Month ✊🏽 and the Lunar New Year 🌙 February has been a special month for us at HCP. Our team has been busy celebrating and amplifying the voices of diverse founders and leaders — our mission all year round.
💰 870 Black & Latino Startups Have Raised $1M+
Our 4th annual Diverse Founder Report is out – and it’s bigger and better than ever before, thanks to our partnership with Crunchbase. We’re especially excited to share that HCP represents 28 companies on this list of Black and Latino startups that have raised at least $1M.

The 870 companies on the list have raised $28.8B (this includes all companies ranging from 1995-2021) with a median raise of $5.5M
Total capital raised increased from $2.7B in 2020 to $8.2B in 2021, with Latinos representing 60% of capital raised
33% of the companies on the list are women and 67% are men, though women only received 20% of funding
Men have raised 1.8x more than women and Black men have raised 2.3x more than Black women when it comes to median capital raised
Latino men have the highest median raised: $7.5M

The House of LR&C, the fashion house created by Ciara, Russell Wilson, and led by CEO Christine Day, has opened their first brick-and-mortar fashion store after closing their oversubscribed $7M investment last month!
